My name is Shawn Menard and on October 22nd, 2018 I was elected to Ottawa City Council to represent Capital Ward on an ambitious and progressive platform. Prior to my election I was the Public School Board Trustee for Capital Ward.
My prior experience includes being a senior staff person for Canada’s Big City Mayor’s Caucus and the Federation of Canadian Municipalities.
I am also the past President of the Carleton University Alumni Association for the National Capital Region, the former Vice Chair of the City of Ottawa Pedestrian and Transit Advisory Committee, Past President of the Rideau River Residence Association and Centretown Citizen’s Community Association, and I previously worked within the federal government as a public servant.
I have a Masters degree in Public Policy and Administration. I have lived in Ottawa my whole life, and currently live in Old Ottawa South with my partner and my young son and daughter.
As Councillor, I am fighting to make City Hall a place for people again.
