Through working with the property manager, the owner, and city staff, we were finally able to see the notorious West Coast Video building on Bank Street demolished.
We are supportive, too, of the City moving forward with the implementation of a tax on vacant residential properties, which is one way to address the speculative investments driving up rental prices in Ottawa. There are more vacant residential units in Ottawa than there are people on the affordable housing wait list. It's time we put two and two together.
