Old Ottawa South deserves better than West Coast Video eyesore
Little has been done to address the eyesore that is the former home of West Coast Video and Elee Spa in the heart of Old Ottawa South. The building has been empty for 9 years following a 2009 fire. In addition to being an eyesore known to house racoons and other small animals (raising public health concerns), it is an example of how our city is putting developer interests ahead of the people of Ottawa. Old Ottawa South is a vibrant and growing community that deserves better. This space could be, for example, a youth drop-in centre, or it could house a tool co-operative and permanent farmer’s market.
